Communications Assistant (Part-Time, 24-32 hrs/week)

The role
Are you an organizational talent who thrives on supporting others and keeping things running smoothly? As a Communications Assistant at Corbion, you’ll be the backbone of our Public Affairs and Corporate Communications team. In this hands-on, varied role, you’ll coordinate and execute a wide range of operational and communications tasks, ensuring that everything from internal campaigns to supplier management goes off without a hitch. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the business, manage practical details, and help us deliver high-quality communications every day. This is a stable, service-oriented position for someone who enjoys being the go-to person for all things operational and communications support.
Key responsibilities
Operations and coordination
- Provide day-to-day operational and administrative support to the Public Affairs and Corporate Communications team.
- Manage the communications inbox and ensure timely follow-up and coordination.
- Maintain calendars, appointments, and meeting logistics for the team.
- Support the organization of international management meetings, webinars, conference calls, seminars, and internal meetings.
- Handle SAP finance tasks such as purchase orders, payments, and supplier follow-up.
- Be proactive in spotting opportunities for improvement and suggesting smarter ways of working.
Project and supplier support
- Support the preparation of assignments, briefings, and requests for quotations.
- Assist in assessing quotations, discussing options with management, and issuing assignments.
- Support the coordination and day-to-day management of external agencies and suppliers.
- Maintain an overview of the communications supplier network and related agreements.
Communications support
- Support the implementation of internal and external communications projects and activities.
- Edit, and format communications materials (presentations, reports, written content).
- Support basic web content updates and execution of social media activities.
- Track communications projects, activities, and media exposure.
- Maintain and update departmental SOPs, databases, media lists, and SharePoint sites.
- Execute and coordinate small communications projects independently.
You bring
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in a communications or management support, or coordination role, ideally in an international corporate environment.
- MBO 4+ or similar vocational education
- Experience as a management assistant or in a similar operational support role is highly valued.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; able to manage a high volume of varied tasks.
- Service-oriented mindset: you enjoy supporting others and take pride in being a reliable team player.
- Comfortable with practical, hands-on work and able to switch quickly between tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with SharePoint and SAP (finance tasks like purchase orders and payments) is highly preferred.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English; Dutch is a plus but not required.
- Not afraid to pick up the phone, chase information, or take initiative when something needs to get done.
- Eye for quality and detail, whether reviewing a poster or double-checking a supplier invoice.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, international environment.
