As our EH&S Manager, you will lead the strategic and tactical activities of all EH&S and loss prevention programs for the Blair, NE facility. You will direct, plan, establish, and implement  occupational EH&S loss prevention programs to assure the highest possible degree of safety for team members and plant facilities, while  ensuring  Corbion complies with applicable federal and state EH&S laws, regulations, and standards. You will also leads the development, planning and implementation of environmental, industrial, health and safety programs.




  • Inspect work areas and equipment to ensure compliance with company, state, and federal safety policies and regulations. 
  • Perform and document safety inspections. 
  • Cite dangerous areas/procedures and recommends corrective procedures.
  • Identify risks within the facility and help to eliminate or mitigate them.  
  • Maintain safety equipment supply and availability. 
  • Work (lead) with small safety teams i.e. safety committees.
  • Lead incident investigations.
  • Track  CAPAs for any safety action items resulted from investigations or audits.
  • Enter and maintain data up to date related to our BBS program.
  • Participate in PJHAs with in-house and external contractors on a regular basis.
  • Support the safety program in Blair, NE and champions initiatives.
  • Execute QESH standards per defined roles and responsibilities to ensure personal and product safety and quality. 
  • Implement, execute and promote food safety of our products using Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), performance to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), Security Measures, Housekeeping, Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Point (HACCP), all quality, regulatory, environmental, safety and health guidelines and regulations.  These standards are used in all daily activities to ensure the products safety and quality are in compliance.  
  • Other duties as determined by business needs.



  • B.S. (Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety or Industrial Hygiene)
  • 3+ years’ experience in the field of Safety
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with EH&S Management systems and processes
  • Displays Leadership behaviors
  • Familiar with Behavior Based Safety programs
  • Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in the general industry.
  • Demonstrated initiative, independent judgement and creativity to perform the functions of the job.
  •  Capable of working independently, without immediate supervision.
  • Advanced knowledge of LOTO, Confined Space, Respiratory, Working at Heights and Hot Work.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented leadership style, with experience leading and influencing at all levels within an organization.
  • Exceptional critical thinking ad problem solving skills, required
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of others; includes tactfulness and a helping orientation.  
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven track record of Process Management, safety management  and people management



General Working Environment

  • The Manager, EH&S is required to work in an office setting and in the plants; with some tasks taking place inside of and outside of the plant.   
  • The Manager, EH&S is subject to wear the appropriate PPE including but not limited to hard hats, safety glasses, safety boots, chemical suits, face-shields, rubber gloves and uniform clothing.
  • Temperature inside and outside the facility will range between -15oF and 120oF depending on location and the activities involved. 
  • Occasional international travel is required.
