Process Engineer

We are hiring a Process Engineer who embodies our values of care, courage, collaboration and commitment. You will be part of our team at the Campos dos Goytacazes/RJ plant.

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support and direction to the Production team, ensuring the correct operation of equipment and process efficiency.
• Monitor and analyze key process variables, identifying potential deviations and reporting findings.
• Help perform mass and energy balances to optimize raw material and energy consumption.
• Support the implementation of new digital tools and automation initiatives to improve efficiencies.
• Contribute to the startup of new equipment and process modifications.
• Support the review and update of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) when process changes occur.
• Support the investigation (root cause analysis) of deviations in the process.
• Support the behavioral safety, process safety, and food safety initiatives.

Safety and Environmental Responsibilities:

• Follow all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations applicable to the production process.
• Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety protocols.
• Report process deviations, near misses, and safety hazards.
• Participate in risk assessments and process safety analyses.
• Support proper waste disposal and environmental compliance in fermentation and purification operations.

    Skills/knowledge and experience

•     Degree in Chemical Engineering. Master's degree in Chemical Engineering will be an advantage.
•     Experience in food, pharma or specialty chemicals required. 
•     Advanced English is mandatory. Minitab is a plus.

    Competencies:   

• Demonstrates problem-solving and independent decision-making skills in operational situations
• Ability to interact with the different disciplines of the plant (Operations, maintenance, engineering, ESH, QA) in a collaborative manner
• Proven initiative and self-motivation.
