Job Summary:

The Production Supervisor will play a crucial role in overseeing and coordinating daily manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of production workers, ensuring adherence to quality standards, meeting production targets, and fostering a safe and efficient work environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership
    • Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of production workers.
    • Foster a positive and collaborative team culture.
    • Provide guidance and coaching to team members for skill development.

 

  • Production Planning and Scheduling:
    • Collaborate with the planning department to ensure production schedules are met.
    • Allocate resources effectively to achieve production targets.
    • Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed.

 

  • Quality Assurance:
    • Ensure compliance with quality control standards and regulatory standards.
    • Implement measures to minimize defects and rework.
    • Conduct regular quality checks and inspections (GMP, ISO standard and others)

 

  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Enforce and promote a safe working environment.
    • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
    • Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions.
    • Support operators in the work permits, execute job safety analyses and sign-off high risk work permits for your unit.

 

  • Process Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvement.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Ensure that the appropriate root cause analysis tools are used to lead investigations.

 

  • Inventory Management:
    • Monitor and control raw material and finished goods inventory.
    • Collaborate to manage inventory levels effectively.

 

  • Equipment Maintenance:
    • Support maintenance activities to ensure equipment reliability.
    • Report and address any equipment malfunctions promptly.

 

  • Communication:
    • Maintain open communication with team members and other departments.
    • Provide regular updates on production status and key performance indicators.

 

  • Training and Development:
    • Identify training needs and coordinate training programs for team members.
    • Support the development of skills within the production team.

 

  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate production records and reports.
    • Generate reports on production metrics and key performance indicators.

 

  • Cost Management:
    • Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality and safety.
    • Monitor and control production-related expenses.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferably Chemical Engineering or Biochemical Engineering.
  • Proven experience in a production or manufacturing supervisory/coordination role.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of production processes, quality standards, and safety standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and their application in the production process
  • Candidate is required to be conversant in English to be able to liaise effectively.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Understanding of chemical and/or biochemical engineering principles, processes, and methodologies is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma principles is a plus.
  • Knowledge of 5S methodology is a plus
  • Process Safety Knowledge is a plus
  • Knowledge of Minitab and SAP is a plus
