The Biomaterials Business Unit develops, produces and sells monomers and degradable polymers as raw materials to support implantable technologies as diverse as cardiovascular devices, orthopedic implants, tissue regeneration scaffolds and wound management systems and to formulate controlled release Drug Delivery Products

 

Corbion’s Biomaterials products are developed and produced (often to customer specifications) in our factories in Gorinchem, the Netherlands and Tucker, GA - the United States supported by years of expertise across everything from contract manufacturing to custom synthesis.  When it comes to biomedical and resorbable polymers, our track record stretches back to the 1960s.

 

To support the increasing developments and business growth in the field of our high quality resorbable polymers Corbion’s Biomaterials business unit we have a vacancy for a Business Development Director focusing on the Drug Delivery market.

 

As the Business Development Director Drug Delivery you develop and execute the global business development strategy of Corbion biomaterials for Drug Delivery markets. You will be an active member of the Biomaterials Management Team in the Netherlands as well as  the Global Biomaterials Leadership Team.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and execute global business development strategy in the Drug Delivery market
  • Realize strategic growth targets of Biomaterials in the Drug Delivery market, including the development of a project pipeline
  • Support global sales organization in developing new business in the Drug Delivery market together with the Technical Market Manager
  • Establish and maintain a global network
  • Representation of Corbion within the Drug Delivery market
  • Provide operational and strategic contributions to the MT Biomaterials NL in order to realize current and future goals
  • Budget: responsible for the expense budget of the BD department
  • Member of the Management Team Biomaterials NL
  • Member of the Global Leadership Team Biomaterials

 

 

Requirements

 

We are looking for an experienced business development leader with a strong technical background.

In addition a successful candidate meets the following requirements:

 

  • MSc degree in a relevant technical area such as pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, chemistry, chemical engineering, polymer technology or similar.
  • At least 10 years of  experience in business development in the medical or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Experience in the drug delivery market.
  • The ability to work with different business models.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to prioritize between business opportunities.
  • Strong communication skills and customer focus.
  • Ability to travel globally (estimated 25-40%).
