Process Development Specialist

Do you want use your expertise & skills in the field of Process Technology and contribute to the development of new and improved, sustainable processes and products for Corbion? As our Process development specialist you will work for the Global R&D Department at our location in Gorinchem. At this site we have our largest lactic acid derivative production facility which serves all of our Non-Bakery food market units as well as our Biochemicals Unit. Additionally this site accommodates our Biomaterials plant as well as the Corbion Innovation Centre.

As our Process development specialist your main responsibilities are to exploit and extend your expertise to explore downstream process concepts and develop new processes, delivering from feasibility through pilot to implementation. You will build insight, know-how and skills in multiple relevant fields of expertise. Furthermore this role is focused on:

• Executing projects to support the development, optimization and migration of new or existing process steps
• Translating the technology challenges of commercial plants to lab-scale trials at R&D

• Developing process concepts and models, supporting product models

• Building, maintaining and exploiting process development and implementation skills
• Assisting in implementation of technology from R&D to pilot plants
• Supporting intellectual property, regulatory affairs, marketing and sales departments with relevant expertise
• We offer you the opportunity to coach and develop junior specialists, technicians and/or trainees

 About you
 

In addition to your educational achievements on a PDEng/PhD level in process technology the successful candidate for the position of Process development specialist must also have:

• At least 3+ years of industrial work experience in a relevant Process Industry field

• State of the art expertise in process development and equipment selection
• Preferably experience with solid-liquid separations, membrane separations and drying

• Experience with process modeling
• Willingness to travel
• Fluency in English (oral and written)
• Good communication skills and intercultural sensitivity
