As the Director of Regional IT Operations, you will be responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective delivery of IT services within Europe. Your primary focus will be on application support, end-user support, and local network operations. You will lead a team of IT professionals, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, and ensure service excellence, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Your role will involve planning, process improvement, vendor management, and driving the implementation of best practices in IT operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT service management, leadership experience, and a track record of driving continuous improvement in service delivery processes and capabilities within a regional context.

 

Responsibilities

 

Application Support:

 

  • Oversee the management and support of business-critical applications within the region.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand application requirements, prioritize support needs, and ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Develop and implement application support processes and procedures, including incident management, problem management, and service request fulfillment.
  • Monitor application performance and drive continuous improvement efforts to enhance system reliability, availability, and performance.

 

End User Support:

 

  • Ensure the provision of high-quality end-user support services, addressing hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  • Define and maintain service level agreements (SLAs) for end-user support, ensuring timely and effective incident resolution.
  • Develop and implement self-service and knowledge management capabilities to empower end users and promote self-help options.
  • Collaborate with global IT support teams to leverage shared resources and best practices for enhanced end-user support.

 

Local Network Operations:

 

  • Oversee the management and maintenance of the local network infrastructure, ensuring stability, security, and scalability.
  • Collaborate with network engineers and vendors to design, implement, and optimize local network architecture.
  • Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks or potential issues, and implement necessary improvements or optimizations.
  • Ensure compliance with network security policies and industry best practices to protect the integrity and confidentiality of data.

 

Service Level Management:

 

  • Define and monitor SLAs for application support, end-user support, and local network operations, ensuring service delivery according to agreed-upon standards.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure and track service delivery performance, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with global IT teams to align service levels and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Vendor Management:

 

  • Manage relationships with IT vendors and service providers, ensuring effective contract negotiation, service level agreements, and vendor performance.
  • Conduct vendor assessments and regular performance reviews to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and service quality expectations.
  • Collaborate with procurement and legal teams to evaluate and select vendors, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships.

 

Team Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing regional IT operations team, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
  • Define team goals and performance metrics, regularly assessing and providing feedback on individual and team performance.
  • Identify skill gaps and training needs, providing resources and opportunities for professional development within the regional IT operations team.
  • Foster a culture of diversity, inclusion, and continuous learning.

 

 

About you

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in IT service management, with a focus on application support, end-user support, and local network operations.
  • Strong leadership abilities, with a track record of successfully leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of IT service management frameworks and best practices, such as ITIL.
  • Experience in managing application support processes and ensuring business-critical applications are available and performing optimally.
  • Proven ability to manage end-user support services, including incident management, problem management, and service request fulfillment.
  • Solid understanding of local network infrastructure, including design, implementation, and security best practices.
  • Strong vendor management skills, including experience in contract negotiation, vendor performance management, and outsourcing/partnership models.
  • Demonstrated experience in driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery processes and customer satisfaction.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with senior leaders, business stakeholders, and technical teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven mindset and the ability to make informed decisions based on metrics and performance data.
