Vacancy (Sr) Business Development Manager Lactic Acid group

 

Corbion is the global market and cost leader in development and production of Lactic Acid and Lactic Acid Derivatives. With our portfolio of sustainable products, we are active in diverse markets such as food ingredients, home & personal care, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, agrochemicals, animal nutrition and bioplastics. We have plants in The Netherlands, Spain, Thailand, the United States and Brazil.

 

To meet increasing demand from different industries such as , Home and Personal Care , bioplastics, industrial biochemicals, agrochemicals and animal health we are investing in new assets, such as a new lactic acid plant in Thailand. To execute our growth strategy we currently have an opportunity for a (Sr) Business Development Manager.

 

As our Business Development Manager you take responsibility for driving the business development activities executing the product strategy for Lactic Acid, aligning with the regional business development agenda and driving the global BD agenda. In alignment with product management you work on production footprint expansion and the business development roadmap. You play a key role in the development of this strategy. You ensure that the products are available with strong value propositions and sustainable profitability. In order to do so you work closely with Sales, product management R&D and Operations. You form a team with regional business developers and report to the Director Product Management Lactic Acid and By products.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Own and execute product line strategies in alignment with global product strategy for Lactic Acid
  • Translate competitive insights into strategic and tactical actions of the product line
  • Execute product management activities, including new product introductions, changes, rationalizations and documentation
  • Set the price strategies for value propositions with product management and drive business development and growth agenda
  • Participate in global key account/customer contract negotiations and drive the business development agenda with Local BD
  • Drive market and business development of the product line in close collaboration with sales and business development teams to meet pipeline targets
  • Support customers on product related questions when needed
  • serve as product expert from application level
  • Collaborate with Operations and product management in managing on structural customer complaints and supply issues handling
  • Drive new product development working with R&D
  • Drive projects together with project managers [e.g. innovation projects, CAPEX, business improvement projects]
  • Streamline communications between the commercial teams and operations teams and other internal stakeholders
  • Ensure regulatory registrations and compliance in various countries with regulatory support
  • Manage demand and supply through product management with sales, marketing and supply chain (S&OP)
  • Propose yearly budget for the product lines and drive pipeline development

 

Requirements

 

We are looking for an experienced and creative Business Development Manager with proven success in growing sales and profitability of a chemical product portfolio in a variety of different end markets. In addition, a successful candidate meets the following qualifications:

 

  • Msc or BSc education in relevant science (marketing, business administration)
  • At least 10 years of experience in a business development and or product management role in a demand- and supply driven industry
  • Balance of commercial, supply chain and technical know-how, skills, affinity and experience.
  • Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Proven track record within a complex global matrix environment
  • Ability to identify unmet needs and capture associated value.
