Technician B

The Food Micro & Preservation R&D SFS team plays a key role in the investigation and development of new solutions that will contribute to the execution of the ambitious Growth Strategy of Corbion in the Natural Preservation Business. The team of Experts works on both Modelling and Preservation Solutions in the form of functional food ingredients that are key to the safety, shelf life, and overall properties of Food Stuff. The Technician B contributes to innovation projects as well as Customer support according to the Business needs. The Technician B will be in a team with other technicians, technician A, senior technicians, specialists and/or scientists and are managed by the (senior) manager of the team. 

Responsibilities

•    Contribute to the practical execution of innovation projects and customer support projects
•    Contribute to the management of safety and order of the microbiology labs
•    Support the maintenance and update of the culture collection and related catalogue/database
•    Contribute to innovation projects and customer support projects, active participation and execution of project elements.
•    Prepare project design, planning, and execution of research independently according to the known protocols (consult sr. technician, 

     specialist/scientist or manager)
•    Ensure documentation and reporting of procedures and results according to the Corbion standards. Report methods, results and techniques used. 
•    Analyze, interpret and process results of analyses or experiments, monitor results during research and adjust research when necessary (measure 

     quality of analyses and interpretations, timely actions)
•    Present and discuss results with the team, project team or other departments 
•    Actively participate in maintaining the facilities, equipment, and safety in the labs
•    Contribute to the development of new protocols together with i.e. Scientist

About you

•    BSc or MSc in Food Science, Food Microbiology, Biology or equivalent education
•    Specialized in Food Preservation, with a good understanding of various food applications and food science
•    Minimum 1 year working experience preferably in a food company
•    Customer focused and solution oriented mindset
•    Pragmatic creativity and can-do mentality
•    Highly motivated, self-starter, and proactive approach.  
•    Strong team-player skills
