MISSION AND KEY ROLE FOCUS
Corbion's Innovation Center's Polymer Technology (IC PmT) group is dedicated to developing and transferring bioresorbable and implantable polymer products and technologies from bench scale to production for both medical devices and pharmaceutical applications.
We are seeking a Technology Transfer specialist to join our team. In this role, you will collaborate with technicians, specialists, scientists, and engineers as well as with various business functions of Biomaterials such as Operations, QA/QC and Business Development under the guidance of a Senior/Principal Scientist. You will be part of multidisciplinary innovation projects, manage and coordinate the activities related to the technology transfer to our Biomaterials GMP Production facilities.
As part of our team, you are expected to :
- Lead technical meetings and coordinate execution of activities related to Technology Transfer to Biomaterials Production.
- Lead development projects or Technology Transfer projects.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for researchers, production, QA/QC and Business development, fostering productive relationships with R&D, Production, QA and QC
- Support Production activities by issuing and managing recipes for Biomaterials GMP production NL used for the manufacturing of bioresorbable polymers used in both medical - or pharmaceutical applications
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Manage and execute the operational project activities related to the technology transfer and scale-up to GMP production NL
- Lead, co-ordinate and participate in technical transfer meetings
- Responsible for technical transfer activities, as applicable, through authorship and/or review of required GMP documentation (Change control, protocols, reports, qualifications, etc.)
- Issue, justify and control recipes that will be implemented at Production and coordinate all activities around recipes and recipe management.
- Project or technical lead of innovation/customer/product development/technical transfer projects.
- Define, plan and execute projects with a team based on business goals. Set milestones and deliverables.
- Set-up of experimental work and work together with the technicians to ensure correct execution of experimental work and/or analyses.
- Analyze/interprete results generated by technicians.
- Ensure documentation and reporting of procedures and results according to the Corbion standards. Report methods, results and techniques used, conclusions and recommendations.
- Development of new protocols for testing, continuous improvement on existing products, services, production or operational processes.
- Assist in supervision and support of technicians
- Literature research, and keeping the knowledge of self and the rest of the team well updated on competitor products, new technologies and trends
- Actively participate in maintaining the facilities, equipment, and safety in the labs
- Support onboarding of colleagues
KEY SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES
- MSc in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or equivalent, or BSc in Chemistry, Chemical engineering or equivalent with at least 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Knowledge and experience in polymer chemistry, processes and analytics
- Knowledge of technology transfer and GMP pharmaceutical processes and scale-up and guidelines/regulations
- Experience in deviation management and/or change control and/or equipment support
- Customer focused, solution oriented and can-do mentality
- Good problem solving skills
- Highly motivated, self-starter, and proactive approach
- Strong team-player and good communication skills
- Fluency in Dutch and English (written and spoken)
