Join our team as the Director of Sales, North America. In this position you will be responsible for not only managing the team but also helping them flourish and grow in their roles to ensure the growth of the business.

 

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to development of strategies and tactics of global market unit in order to maintain and grow the business sustainably and profitably.
  • Maintain and build relationships with existing and new accounts, identify customer needs and provide appropriate product recommendations and sales to maintain and grow existing accounts.
  • Analyze industry and competitor trends to identify new sales opportunities, formulate target markets, monitor competitor activity and develop and implement appropriate response strategies.
  • Prepare market unit and specific key account budgets; administer department budget in accordance with company strategies and targets.
  • Recruit, train, develop, motivate and retain Account Manager and Sales Support Specialist.
  • Manage customer service including order processing, complaint resolution, billing, warehousing and logistics.
  • Direct marketing strategies (including budget, advertising, and trade shows) to promote market leadership, name recognition and increase market share for all product groups.
  • Lead and enable the team to prepare for future business growth in defined strategic growth areas (demand assessment, project initiation, positioning, and execution) with target customers.
  • Executes QESH standards per defined roles and responsibilities to ensure personal and product safety and quality.

 

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in food science or related degree preferred. Master’s degree strongly desired but not required.
  • Must have a minimum of 3 – 5 years experience in Sales Management.
  • In addition, 8 – 10 years experience in one of the following or a combination of Technical Sales, Account Management, and New Business Development
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office. Highly customer focused.
  • Must be able travel 40 – 50%.
