Finance and Accounting Intern

The Finance and Accounting Intern will be located in Lenexa, KS, as part of the Finance Control team. The selected candidate will be part of a dynamic team, where you will have the opportunity to develop your skills with hands-on experiences. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work across a variety of functions within the Finance Control area, including AIR, A/P, G/L, Financial Reporting, Internal Controls, Tax and Treasury. To be successful, the chosen candidate should be a problem-solver with the ability to use critical thinking and analytical skills to bring value to the work being performed. 

Essential duties will include, but not be limited to:

•    Preparing, reviewing and posting complex journal entries in accordance with IFRS
•    Reconcile, analyze, and review general ledger accounts for accuracy, including ability to collect necessary data, allocate costs, and ensure proper accruals in preparation for month end close
•    Collect and analyze monthly data for financial reports, including completion of flux analyses
•    Assist with the maintenance and application of internal controls
•    Assist with the preparation of reports and documents for both the internal and external audits
•    Ability to work autonomously and complete individual analytical projects in a satisfactory manner given minimal guidance
•    Complete ad hoc assigments as requested, including assist department managers as needed

Additional skills, knowledge and experience required:

•    The ideal candidate should currently be pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Accounting from an
accredited college or university, with a minimum 3.5 GPA and completed two Accounting classes
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
•    Demonstrated analytical, organizational and time management skills
•    Detail oriented, with ability to research and analyze account variances
•    Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
•    Strong verbal and written communication skills
•    Demonstrated presentation skills, leadership qualities and leadershp potential
•    Must be available to work in office, based out of the Lenexa, KS office
