We have a unique opportunity for an experienced Human Resources Manager supporting two of our manufacturing sites in North America.  This HR Manager II position is based in Blair, NE and remotely manages the HR function for a small site in San Francisco, CA. 


The HR Manager is responsible for the local execution and delivery of Corbion Human Resource programs, supports the Operations and Management teams in all HR related matters, and partners with all levels of the organization to ensure a positive culture for local Corbion employees.  




  • Support day-to-day delivery of HR services; respond to general employee questions related to benefits, company policies and procedures;
  • Coach employees and managers of the organization on performance management and support the talent review processes of the company;
  • Drive recruitment and placement for all positions in both locations. Coordinate with Corbion’s recruitment department and hiring managers to select qualified candidates.  Participate in the interview and selection process and drive effective recruitment practices for all positions;
  • Facilitate human resources trainings to client groups;
  • Build and maintain effective working relations with the leadership teams and employees to advise both on employee-related and organizational matters;
  • Hands-on approach and ownership of the HR function for the manufacturing facility.  As well as, monitoring the “pulse” of the employees to ensure a high level of employee engagement and a positive workplace culture;
  • Be a proactive employee problem solver and proactively identify areas of improvement. Evaluation of organization issues and recommend solutions and minimize risk and potential employee related problems;
  • Timely processing, input and ongoing data entry into the Corbion Human Resources information management system (CHRIS); assist in the development of HRIS tools as needed;
  • Collaborate with the Safety Manager to ensure that safety practices are being followed.  Participate in plant safety activities. Manage and process workers compensation claims;
  • Support all legal, audit and compliance activities;
  • Assist with special HR related project research, analysis, recommendations and reporting;
  • Act as a trusted partner and colleague to the organization;


Education requirements:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Education or other related field preferred


Work Experience Requirements:


  • 7+ years of experience working in HR, manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Current knowledge of all Federal, state and local laws. Willingness to be trained on California, City and muncipality specific employment laws
  • Proficiency in core HR disciplines such as: employee relations, talent management, compensation and total rewards, performance management, training and development and diversity/affirmative action developed via progressively responsible HR roles.
  • Demonstrated experience in tactical human resources operations.  This is a true “roll-up-your-sleeves” role.  Must have a strong bias for action and the ability to get things done in a fast, fluid environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to establish positive relations with both internal and external business partners and employees, at all levels of the organization. 
  • Demonstrated success in fostering energetic, positive workplaces that enable all participants to contribute to their full potential in pursuit of company objectives.
  • Coaching skills and ability to provide guidance to supervisors and employees to improve working relations, deal with performance concerns, etc.
  • Leadership on HR processes such as organizational development, performance management, training initiatives, career development, compensation, employee relations and HR policy and strategy development.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive information; strong problem-solving and analytical skills, excellent judgment and composure. 
  • High attention to detail required with a focus on ensuring deadlines are met and accurate records are kept.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work with confidence independently and cross-functionally across various departments; establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external parties; handle multiple projects and competing priorities with frequent interruptions.
  • Highly motivated, self-starter, and proactive approach. 
  • Capable of building trusted relationship with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office suite.
