Procurement Buyer

Corbion is seeking a highly organized, growth oriented Procurement Buyer.  In this role, you will set up suppliers, purchase goods, materials and services to ensure Corbion’s operational needs are met, taking into account total cost, quality and delivery.  You will be accountable for continuity of supply, cost savings, and delivering against individual, department and company targets while proactively updating management on issues and opportunities.  

Key Responsibilities:

• Purchase goods, materials, components or services for Corbion production facilities in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders and order schedules and expedite delivery 
• Resolves discrepancies and issues in invoices and purchase orders
• Support the purchasing function and communicate supply concerns which may impact business operations
• Act as an interface between suppliers and other relevant departments on purchasing processes and new projects
• Analyze new and existing costs and review cost reduction activities
• Prepare and communicate reports and updates
• Partner with peers to review opportunities for continuous improvement
• Manage supplier rapport including researching new vendors, contract negotiation, communication, confirmations, expediting, problem resolution and evaluation
• Ensure compliance to company guidelines, purchasing policies and best practice procedures 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in purchasing role
• Familiarity with an integrated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
• Ability to build and maintain effective and productive relationships with peers, stakeholders and suppliers
• Detail oriented with strong communication, negotiation, interpersonal and influencing skills
• Analytical, numerically astute with strong demonstrated problem solving abilities
• Commercial and financial awareness with a full understanding of how failure impacts the production, manufacture and customer order fulfilment
