Technologist IV

Corbion is looking for a proactive, team oriented Food Technologist IV with a can-do attitude to play a key role in developing new products for the baking industry, conducting research related to food ingredients, and working on a wide variety of projects.  You will work closely with the R&D and Applications (RDA) teams to lead and execute projects that will deliver products to meet market and customer needs.  The ideal candidate is highly motivated and organized, able to manage multiple projects at once.  Communication skills are also a key to success in this role, which is based in Lenexa, Kansas.

The Ingredient Solutions R&D team plays a key role in developing new products for the food and baking industries. The person in this role will:

• Support and execute bakery and non-bakery projects to develop new and improved products to address the needs of our customers
• Support and execute moderately complex projects including but not limited to ingredient research, procurement projects, and product development
• Achieve project objectives by working cross functionally with operations, master data, procurement, and RDA
• Report/discuss work status and other critical information with peers and RDA management
• Participate in cross-functional project teams to deliver project objectives
• Evaluate potential raw materials to support procurement and supply chain projects
• Cultivate a team atmosphere with peer groups and upper management
• Assist in maintaining a lab environment that is clean, organized, and work ready
• Be flexible in taking additional tasks as needed to support company's business goals

KEY SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

• Bachelor’s Degree in Bakery Science, Food Science, Cereal Chemistry, or related fields
• Basic formulation and industrial processing knowledge related to bakery or food products
• Master’s or AIB a plus, but not required
• Ability to work independently to complete multiple tasks in a timely manner
• Proven success communicating to a wide range of audiences concerning technical and business needs
• General understanding of bakery analytical equipment
• Possess problem solving skills
• Capable of self-management and multiple project/task management
• May need to travel overnight 20-30%
