Technologist V

Corbion is seeking a highly motivated Sr. Technologist and team player to join our RD&A department.  The successful candidate should be passionate about conducting studies in the areas of product development, bakery process, and food ingredient functionalities and interactions. 

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the execution of bakery projects to develop new and improved products to address customer needs.
• Report/discuss work status and other critical information with peers, R&D management, sales, or customers.
• Facilitate prototype development and participate in the conception and development of new prototypes.
• Establish and document specifications for new products based on lab development and plant trials.
• Be flexible in taking additional tasks as needed to support company's business goals
• Assist in maintaining a lab environment that is clean, organized, and work ready.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Bakery Science, Food Science, Cereal Chemistry, or related fields. Master’s Degree, AIB, or CMB a plus.

• 3 - 4 years R&D technical experience/development work and understanding of bake lab equipment.   
• General understanding of the principles of food science and/or bakery science, food ingredient functionalities, and the development and the corresponding analytical techniques is desired. 
• Knowledge of basic formulation and industrial processing relating to baking / food.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks at once, working independently or on a project team to meet deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills. particularly concerning technical and business needs to a variety of audiences.
• Understanding of product development processes and methodologies.
