The Senior Automation Engineer or Automation Engineer is responsible for maintaining and improving of the completed DCS system, including day-to-day monitoring, problem solving, supporting the Operations team ensuring operational activities related to automation run effectively.

You work with a diverse and international group of colleagues with the same passion for designing and improving processes to implement Corbion's technologies. You will work in a multidisciplinary project team in which you will contribute to the process design. You are able to draw upon internal colleagues and external service partners and contribute to an innovative and inspiring environment.

Responsibilities

 

Reporting to local Engineering & Technology Manager, your role and responsibilities include:

  • Maintenance, enhancement, and improvement of the DCS system.
  • Monitor and investigate the entire DCS system for both hardware and software, and solve for occurring problem in effective manner.
  • Support troubleshooting, prevent failures, provide root cause analysis when issues occur, and finding out solution to prevent reoccurrence of issues and failures.
  • Perform change and optimization of the DCS program code when design instruction (DI) changes are issued to resolve or improve operational issues.
  • Provide project and engineering support. 
  • Provide accountability in part of control philosophy, documentation (URS, FAT's, etc), and schedule for both day-to-day as well as project activities.
  • Provide accurate data/information related to automation in the meetings e.g. HAZOP, HACCP, GMP, incident reviews, etc. to ensure issue are identified or clearly explained to all parties.

 

 

Requirements

 

In addition to your educational achievements, as the successful candidate for the position of Automation Engineer you must also have at least 5 years of relevant experience in similar industries. Other qualifications we are looking for:

 

  • Minimum Bachelor Degree in Instrumentation Engineering or equivalent practical Process Automation experience 
  • Minimum 5 years' direct experience with DCS, preferably with PCS7 Siemens.
  • Minimum 5 years' of experience in working in chemical plants.
  • Experienced in working in multi-disciplinary project teams in a multi-cultural setting
  • Very good interpersonal skills, good analytical and problem solving capabilities, team player and strong communicator
  • Good command of both written and spoken English
  • The following experience would be a strong plus:
  • Network topology TCP/IP. 
  • PI software application included system management. 
  • Programming language included Basic, VB, VBA, C, C++ and Pascal.
