Senior Project Engineer Mechanical / Piping

The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for preparing and executing projects, ensuring implementation of safety reviews and best engineering practices. You work with a diverse and international group of colleagues with the same passion for designing and improving processes to implement Corbion's technologies. You will work in a multidisciplinary project team in which you will contribute to the design and execution of expansions and upgrades to our plant. You are able to draw upon internal colleagues and external service partners and contribute to an innovative and inspiring environment.

Responsibilities

Reporting to local Engineering & Technology Manager, your role and responsibilities include:

• Pre-construction:
  • Prepare, schedule, coordinate and monitor the assigned multi discipline engineering and construction projects and revamps within an industrial facility
  • Prepare & approve possible optional solutions to seek approval from stakeholders in timely manner
• Construction
  • Process procurement for essential resources such as main equipment and subcontractor/outsource to meet project requirement.
  • Coordinate and control project execution to complete as schedule arranged.
  • Prepare & ensure  readiness of project for commissioning.
  • Provide guidance & troubleshoot problems that occur during construction in an effective manner.
  • Supervise and coordinate the construction works
• Post-Construction
  • Summarize expenses of project accurately by relating them to approved budget.
• Documentation
  • Prepare Maintenance Readiness to comply with maintenance procedure prior to project handover.
  • Update all project documents and file in system to ensure availability, accuracy and revision control.
• Food Safety, Quality System and EHS
  • Work safely, maintain safe working environment, and adhere to all safety policies and procedures. Actively participate in safety initiatives.
  • Support and comply with Quality/ Food Safety Management System and regulatory compliance.
  • Follow all environmental health and safety regulation, procedure, safe works practice and concerned the environmental impact.
  • Monitor compliance to applicable codes, authority regulations, practices, QA/QC policies, company standards and specifications
• Perform overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans, personnel’s performance) and report regularly on project status
• Cooperate and communicate with engineering manager and project participants to provide assistance and technical support
• Assign personnel and third parties to specific phases and elements of the project
• Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions
• Review contractor bids, prepare bid tabs and work with procurement to align purchasing work flow with project budget and schedule.

Requirements

In addition to your educational achievements, as the successful candidate for the position of Senior Project Engineer you must also have relevant experience in working in multi-disciplinary project teams in a multi-cultural setting in similar industries. Other qualifications we are looking for:

• Proven working (5-10 yrs.) experience as a construction project engineer with a Mechanical/Piping background,
• Proven track record of  field experience
• Solid understanding of engineering and construction principles
• Competence in handling simultaneously occurring tasks and smaller projects
• Knowledge of design and visualization software such as AutoCAD, PDMS
• Advanced MS Office skills
• Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices, safety and performance standards
• Ability to work within multiple discipline projects
• Solid project management and supervision skills
• Solid decision making ability and leadership skills
• Good time management and organization skills
• Good command of both written and spoken English
