The market for our ingredients is rapidly increasing, with demand in China contributing significantly. Therefore, we are expanding our sales team and currently have an opportunity for an experienced Sales Account Manager.


As our Sales Manager Sustainable Food Solutions - Bakery, you will help Grow market position in preservation and functional ingredients in China food industry by locating, developing, defining and capturing business opportunities and relationships for Corbion Sustainable Food Solutions (SFS) in the Bakery Industry.




  • Manage Key accounts and distributor sales on a daily basis, contacting them at all levels of R&D, Procurement, Marketing, Quality and Production as well a Regulatory Affairs and Communications for the assigned Bakery Market.
  • Build strong customer relationship by Key Account Management skills and understand their needs.
  • Negotiate contracts with assigned accounts and new customers. Propose, agree internally and execute action plans for assigned Accounts. Identify opportunities to expand company's portfolio in preservation, functional ingredients and functional/preservation/enzyme based blends.
  • Establish pricing, Negotiate contracts. Provide sales & technical support to customers, prospects and distributors set customer priorities and review inventory for specific customer orders; respond to questions regarding legislation, specifications, applications quality and formulation; resolve product specific issues around quality, pricing and invoicing.
  • Develop and execute sales budget in accordance with senior management. Execute and coordinate all sales related activities such as, but not limited to: marketing activities communications plans, legal and regulatory affairs following company's guidelines and in agreement with the responsible of each area.
  • Drive strategic initiatives for development of technical-based relationships with customers.
  • Interface with customers and efficiently drive customer projects from technical feasibility to commercial feasibility and eventually deal closure.
  • Act as liaison between Sales, Technical support and Business Development, ensuring that customers and distributors are fully trained to properly use company's portfolio.
  • Determine competitive issues that may affect company's interest.
  • Effectively use CRM tools. Share the information timely by reporting to the system (MS CRM) and to the direct manager.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Demand forecasting.
  • Fully engaged by working as a team and stimulate each other.




  • A seasoned sales manager with focus on driving growth. Strong customer focus and result oriented.
  • > 5 years of experience in technical sales in ingredients (B2B) with solid track record of developing and running a sales territory.
  • Experience in the field of (natural) preservation and functional ingredients (Incl. Enzyme based blends) within the China Bakery industry.
  • Has and established strong network within the China Bakery industry.
  • Proven ability to build and foster strategic partnerships with key customers, including developing prototypes in lab and working with client to support launch.
  • Excellent skills in networking with people and building business relationships. Proven effective interfacing with and influencing customers at all levels and functions.
  • Skilled in sales planning, prospecting, and closing business deals.
    Direct involvement in the complete technical sales cycle to include formal customer presentations, technical discussions, product trials, overcoming objections, negotiations and closing supply agreements/contracts.
  • Ability to understand and sell to customer needs.
  • Your educational achievements are in the field of Food Ingredients or you hold a degree in Food Science.
  • Recognized for ability to work across an organization and cross-functionally, new business development projects.
  • Flexible and adaptable to change and passionate.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word, Excel processing;, CRM reporting tools, E-mail and PowerPoint.
  • Located in the Shanghai area.
  • Ability to communicate both written and verbally in English.
