Senior Technologist - Analytics

The role
As a Senior Technologist, Analytics, you will play a key role in supporting Corbion’s innovation, product development, and customer projects across the Asia-Pacific region. Based at our APAC headquarters in Singapore, you will combine hands-on laboratory expertise with scientific problem solving, analytical method development, and cross-functional collaboration.

Beyond performing advanced analytical testing, you will develop, optimize, and implement analytical methods, interpret complex data, and translate findings into meaningful insights for internal stakeholders and customers. You will work closely with colleagues from Analytics, Applications, Microbiology, Technical Service, Sales, and Business Development to support innovation and customer projects across the region.

The role offers a unique combination of laboratory work, project involvement, and customer interaction. You will regularly contribute to technical discussions, customer meetings, and laboratory visits, while continuously expanding your expertise through collaboration with Corbion’s regional and global analytics teams. Key Responsibilities

• Perform analytical testing using techniques including HPLC/UPLC, GC, titrations, powder characterization, color measurements, sugar and enzyme analysis, DSC, coulometry, and particle-size analysis.
• Independently design, plan, and execute analytical research, including literature and external research.
• Develop, optimize, validate, and implement analytical methods and technologies.
• Analyze, interpret, and validate results, adjust testing plans where needed, and translate findings into clear recommendations.
• Document methods, data, and results according to Corbion standards, including sample tracking and reporting through OneRequest.
• Support innovation and customer projects with timely analytical results, technical overviews, and industry insights.
• Present findings in project and customer meetings, contribute to technical discussions, and support customer lab tours.
• Collaborate with regional and global colleagues, including the analytics team in the Netherlands, across China, Southeast Asia, Japan, and Korea.
• Maintain high standards of safety, quality, compliance, housekeeping, equipment ownership, and consumable management.
• Improve SOPs, workflows, and documentation, and contribute to sustainability, EHS, and quality initiatives.

You bring

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Biotechnology, or a related field.
• At least five years of hands-on experience in an analytical laboratory environment.
• Strong practical experience with HPLC/UPLC, GC, and related analytical instrumentation.
• Experience interpreting analytical data and providing clear conclusions and recommendations.
• A proactive, hands-on approach, with the ability to initiate work, introduce ideas, and manage multiple projects and changing priorities.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, documentation discipline, communication, teamwork, prioritization, and stakeholder management.
• The ability to work full-time onsite in Singapore, with Singapore citizenship or permanent residency.
• Mandarin proficiency.
• Preferably, experience in food or food ingredients. Candidates from pharmaceuticals, quality control, external analytical laboratories, or analytical equipment suppliers are also encouraged to apply.
• Preferably, experience with method development, optimization, validation, customer discussions, or scientific presentations.
