As our  Regional Sales Director Sustainable Food Solutions Japan, Korea and Taiwan, you will build and lead a sales team in your region. With your team you take ownership of SFS existing business and develop new business and customers.

You report to the Regional Vice President SFS APAC in Singapore and Managing Director, Corbion Japan

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Execute strategy in Japan, Taiwan and Korea aligned with global strategy. Closely cooperate with regional business development and supporting functions to improve customer satisfaction index. Formulate, manage and execute marketing and sales tactical plan to maintain and develop the current market share.
  • Achieve the sales targets aligned with global and regional SFS objectives and monitor the progress to meet the targets. Responsible for achieving target sales and profit at all accounts in the Food industry. Assure overall customer satisfaction with regards to quality, service and delivery.
  • Manage a sales team in both Japan, Taiwan and Korea. (Food – Sustainable Food Solutions, SFS).
    Build and manage a dedicated sales team to be compliant with local codes and Company rules / policies.
  • Manage the group to establish pricing, negotiate contracts, and provide sales & technical support to customers, prospects and distributors/agents and channel partners.  Set customer priorities and review inventory for specific customer orders; respond to questions regarding legislation, specifications, applications quality and formulation; resolve product specific issues around quality, pricing and invoicing.
  • Build strong customer relationship by Key Account Management skills and understand their needs.
  • Forming a strong team with product, marketing and regulatory functions to interface with customers and efficiently drive customer projects from technical feasibility to commercial feasibility and eventually deal closure.
  • Build/enhance networking with key industry stakeholders. Identify new business opportunities in Japan, Taiwan and Korea and feed the pipeline.
  • Share the information timely by reporting to the system (MS CRM) and to the direct manager.
  • Analyze market and competitor trends to identify new sales opportunities, formulate target markets, monitor competitor activity and develop and implement appropriate response strategies.
  • Review the (distribution) channel to market and establish efficient business model for sustainable business. Opportunity to revise and improve the business model in Japan.
  • Fully engaged by working as a team and stimulate each other.
  • Motivate and Coach staff

 

Requirements

 

  • A seasoned sales director with focus on driving growth. Strong customer focus and result oriented.
  • Winning candidate possess a powerful combination of strategic and industry-specific skills. You integrate and analyze data fluidly, adapt quickly to changing situations and are upbeat, intuitive, solutions-oriented leaders.
  • 15 years’ experience in business to  business environment in the Food Ingredients industry with prior experience in technical sales.
  • Experience in managing a sales team, distributors and business partners.
  • Your educational achievements are in the field of Food Ingredients or you hold a degree in Food Science.
  • Recognized for ability to work across an organization and leading cross-functional, new business development projects.
  • Flexible and adaptable to change and passionate.
  • Excellent skills in networking with people and building business relationships. Proven effective interfacing with and influencing customers at all levels and functions.
  • Skilled in sales planning, prospecting, and closing business deals.
    Direct involvement in the complete technical sales cycle to include formal customer presentations, technical discussions, product trials, overcoming objections, negotiations and closing supply agreements/contracts.
  • Ability to understand and sell to customer needs.
  • Experience in the field of (natural) preservation within the Japanese food industry is a plus.
  • Computer Literacy – Microsoft Word®, Excel®, PowerPoint®, Outlook®; Project Management; CRM and forecasting systems/software.
  • Fluent in English and Japanese
