Cost Clerk

The Cost Clerk is responsible for analyzing process order cost variances, generating weekly plant activity reports, and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of process orders.

Essential Functions

• Review process orders for completeness and accuracy.
• Analyze and monitor inventory movements.
• Verify corrective actions on process orders.
• Recommend master data changes based on process order variance analysis.
• Audit BOM and recipe master data.
• Recommend process improvements based on the review of process order variances.
• Identify inventory movement errors and suggest corrective actions.
• Assist in reviewing the annual production volume budget.
• Support Continuous Improvement (CI) activities by reporting internal plant activities reports.
• Provide ad-hoc reporting.
• Demonstrate commitment to safety, both personal and of colleagues.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Controller, Operations Accountant.

Minimum Qualifications

• 2 year degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience using Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and basic math including all units of measure, whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Working knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Word, and Excel.

• Ability to interpret and apply company policies.
• Detail-oriented with proven success prioritizing, planning and completing work in a timely and accurate way.

• Demonstrated interpersonal and oral communication skills and experience in a professional environment where ethics and confidentiality are essential. 
• Ability to work independently and take initiative in performing job duties and seek increased responsibilities. 

Working Environment: 

Plants are large, open floor areas with loud machinery, requiring some areas for workers to wear ear protection to guard against noise. Workers are exposed to high temperatures during the summer months. Some work in cold environments during winter months. You will be exposed to a dusty work environment due to raw materials. Materials may contain allergens (eggs, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, sesame seeds, milk, fish, shellfish, wheat). 

Physical Requirements:

• Sits, Stands, Walks, Kneels, and Bends frequently.
• Frequently uses hand/finger dexterity for typing.
• Reaches above and below the shoulders.
• Corrected vision, speaking ability, and hearing are usually involved in performing written and verbal job functions.

• Frequently lift 25-pounds.

Our offer

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, performance, location and business or organizational needs. The base salary range for this role is $26.00 to $28.00. In addition, we offer:
