Forklift Operator

This Forklift Operator role will be on the 1st shift at our food production facility in Totowa, NJ. The candidate will play a key role in assuring that our valued internal and external customers are supplied their orders on time and in full while also completed accurately.

Essential Job Functions:

• Receive and put-away pallets as required.
• Load finished goods in trailers and follow loading instructions.
• Follow recommendations to work safely and efficiently to better serve our customers.
• Work in a safe manner and comply with the Environmental, Safety and Health policies.

• Collaborate with others and work together as a team.
• Keep work environment clean and tidy to ensure operational efficiency.
• Follow written procedures and any instructions from supervision.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience performing electronic transactions and product movement across the facility.
• High school diploma or equivalent. 
• Able to drive a forklift and physically re-stack pallets with product weighing up to 55 pounds.
• Work accurately and methodically.
• Communicate clearly in person and over the radio.
• Understand internal customer needs and the cost impact of errors and poor quality.

• Replenish full pallets to single pallet locations.
• Pick full and partial pallets and stage for shipment.
• Load trailers for both customers and internal departments.
• Duties, responsibilities and activities may change and new duties may be assigned at any time with or without notice.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Workers are frequently exposed to high temperatures during the summer months and some work in cold environments during winter months. Production/Warehouse areas can be dusty.
• Workers may be required to wear masks, hair nets, and gloves to protect the product from possible contamination.  Certain work areas require respirators.
• Workers usually stand for the majority of their shifts while operating a forklift and other equipment. Lifting and stacking 55 pound bags or boxes will be required. Loading, unloading, and cleaning equipment can require lifting, bending, and reaching.
