POSITION SUMMARY:

The Production Engineering Summer Intern will support the Totowa NJ manufacturing facility by working on projects that will help drive improvement on site KPI’s such as Safety, Productivity, Quality, Cost/lb & On-Time Delivery to Customers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Auditing manufacturing lines and conducting time studies to determine opportunities to increase production capacity and optimize efficiency
• Support engineers to verify production data tracking and increase the reliability of digital information
• Create Process Flow Diagrams for key site operations
• Drive cost savings by improving productivity, material utilization and by optimizing processes
• Support implementation of capital projects including participation on start-up teams, creating procedures and tracking project through handover to Operations
• Work closely with supervisors and operators to identify pain-points in production and put together a cross-functional team to create a solution
• Follow all GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices), Safety, and Environmental regulations as well as company policies.
• Maintain positive attitude. Focus on the customer. teamwork, and quality productivity

OTHER REQUIREMENTS, QUALIFICATIONS, AND SKILLS:

• Ability to work in teams and independently
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Experience with engineering software suites such as Microsoft Visio or Auto Cad (not required but a plus)
• Able to work in lab and manufacturing environment (lift/maneuver up to 50lbs, wear PPE)
• Self-starter and open to learning

EDUCATION LEVEL:                Junior, Rising Senior
