The Warehouse Supervisor is based at the Totowa, NJ plant and reports directly to the Warehouse Manager. The focus of this position is to provide leadership for Warehouse Operations and manage the hourly union employees. The areas of responsibility include the Kitting and Scaling departments, Staging department as well as Shipping and Receiving areas. It is also expected that we maintain the overall GMP and sanitation of warehouse . The person in this role will need to be able to set expectations of work for employees and hold them accountable. Maintain and improve the Warehouse processes as well as oversee the necessary food safety guidelines for materials within the facility. This position will work with the union workforce and have an understanding of the union contract, work rules, policies, etc. Currently recruiting for second shift.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow all GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices), Safety, and Environmental regulations as well as company policies.
  • Maintain positive attitude. Focus on the customer. teamwork, and quality productivity.  
  • Give recommendations to work safe, efficient, and better serve the customer.
  • Responsible for compliance with good manufacturing practices and food safety guidelines regarding raw material handling and storage within the plant. This includes proper Allergen storage.
  • Retaining any documents pertaining to quality and sanitation procedures or guidelines.
  • Responsible for the quality, food safety and legality of products.
  • Monitoring RF Scanner transaction discipline.
  • Ensure that raw materials needed for production of Finished Goods is prepared in a timely manner.
  • Staging production work centers with proper materials for scheduled batches.
  • Maintain inventory levels of packaging in production facility.
  • Oversee shipping of finished good pallets to Finished Goods Warehouse as well as retaining documents associated with the process.
  • Investigate and correct any issues that may arise during the overall warehouse process flow.
  • Support the cycle count program.
  • Manage the LX/NuTech Warehouse systems and prepare plans to transition functions to SAP architecture 
  • Develop warehouse operations procedures, train employees, and ensure procedures being followed.
  • Manage the process improvement efforts in the Warehouse Areas and processes.
  • Duties, responsibilities and activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice.

 

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Two plus (2+) years in a Manufacturing Supervisor role within the food industry is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree (BS) preferred. High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Ability to motivate and instruct employees as well as administer discipline as necessary.
  • An understanding of union rules and policies and lead a union workforce.
  • Strong food processing, GMP and OSHA knowledge.
  • Knowledge of ERP and ADP systems.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Manufacturing plant is large, open floor areas with loud machinery, requiring some areas for workers to wear ear protection to guard against noise. Workers are frequently exposed to high temperatures during the summer months. Some work in cold environments during winter months. Production/Warehouse areas are dusty.
  • Workers are required to wear masks, hair nets, or gloves to protect the product from possible contamination. Certain areas require respirators.
