The Warehouse Technician is based at the Totowa, NJ plant and reports directly to a Warehouse Supervisor. This is a second shift position; shift is from 2PM - 10:30PM.

Essential Functions

Follow all GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices), FSMA, Safety, and Environmental regulations as well as company policies.

Be on time for work and report to your workstation ready to work at the set time.

Adhere to break and lunch times.

Maintain a positive attitude with a focus on safety, the customer. teamwork, and quality productivity.

Reconfiguring pallets by picking multiple ingredients in warehouse and re-stacking the full units of ingredients onto another pallets. Full units may weigh as much as 55lbs.

Weighing out various types of raw materials less than a full pack size according to formula. This entails using a scoop to transfer weight from one container to another.

Work in a deliberate manner to achieve KPI’s in specific areas set by supervision.

You need to wear proper PPE depending on the types of material you are working with. They will be provided for you.

Attend and participate in training and meetings.

Engage in process improvements, make recommendations and suggestions to improve workplace safety, efficiency, and to better serve the customer.

Keep the work environment clean and free from debris to ensure operational efficiency.

Follow-up on instructions from supervisors or written procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or its equivalent.

Basic math and ability to read to follow formulas and SOPs.

Experienced in performing electronic transactions due to physical movements of ingredients across the production facility.

Potential for operating a forklift. Training done on site.

Able to physically lift up to 55 lbs to re-stack pallets with raw materials containers.

Work accurately, methodically and deliberately.

Good communication skills and team-oriented mentality.

Willingness to work second or third shift with occasional weekend shifts, and overtime hours as needed.

Working Environment:

Manufacturing plant is large, open floor areas with loud machinery, requiring some areas for workers to wear ear protection to guard against noise.

Workers may be exposed to elevated temperatures during the summer months; and some work may be required in cold environments during winter months.

Workers are required to wear GMP compliant hair and beard nets, company-provided uniforms, and gloves to protect the product from possible contamination. Certain areas require respirators.

Production/Warehouse areas are dusty so you will be exposed to dust while working.

*IMPORTANT* In this position, you may be exposed to common airborne or surface food allergens—including, but not limited to, wheat, soy, eggs, dairy, and sesame—during the handling, mixing, storage, transport of materials, or when accessing the production floor.

Physical Requirements:

Climbing, balancing stooping, crouching, crawling, standing, walking, pulling, pushing, lifting overhead, use of fingers, grasping, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.

You will be required to lift a maximum of 55 pounds frequently during the shift.

You will be required to reach above and below the shoulders and overhead when stacking or unstacking max of 55-pound containers(boxes/bags) onto other pallets.

Workers usually stand for the majority of their shifts.

Corrected vision, speaking ability, and hearing are usually involved in performing written and verbal job functions.

This position is covered under a collective bargaining agreement. Compensation and other terms and conditions of employment are subject to the provisions of that agreement. Please note, pay rates and compensation programs may be modified in the future based on business needs, policy updates, or union negotiations, as applicable. At the time of this posting, the compensation for this position is a fixed hourly rate of $21.50 per hour. In addition to the base rate, shift differentials apply as follows: $1.10 per hour for second shift and $1.65 per hour for third shift.
